Superb prose, the second sentence particularly a tour-de-force of sustained observational disgust.
Plays on words with some real punch, not just the crappy puns that sustain most media output: poll dancing, blood sacrifice from Aztechs, so much richness.
The sudden spiralling of alternative outcomes to arbitrary and random occurences is very much like Beckett's Molloy Trilogy, do you know it?
Glad you appreciated the wordplay. Sometimes I think that sort of thing isn't even noticed anymore, what with all the fast scanning, reading solely with the eyeballs and not the ear or any sensitivity to the background texture of language.
I love Beckett, though I haven't read him in years. Was a big fan of the Molloy trilogy in my early twenties, was also reading a lot of Cioran and Schopenhauer. I'm probably due to drop back in on ol boy Molloy.
Nice. Two things. Shit you not, I had a similar parallel parking incident about a month ago while in a similar state of mind. Bumped a car with two girls in it. Not a scratch, but they were ready to fight me. Prolly cause I was being so stand offish at their alarmist reaction. Secondly, congrats on the “real” job. I have gleefully hot boxed many a walk-in.
Thank you. It’s easier to read short spaced out paragraphs online, but I don’t think we should be limited by that consideration. I’ve been wanting to experiment with longer paragraphs lately. And we’re never really done with writing, we just move on to something else

this is great.
question -- about reading online. do you find it easier to read with spacing or without....
I think about this alot.
and create snipps snipps in order to regulate rhythm -- only. after its written. my stuff never stops writing. to stop writing is death......
but went from crazy yellow pad writing to verse --

I like spaces online. long paragraphs where are effective seems to me better in books.
